Game Name: CLUEDEEMER
[ clue - deemer, what do you deem it to be? ]
Device: iOS
Mechanic/Concept: you have 1 second to erase a section of the top image - which erases where you draw - to reveal part of the image underneath (in the area where you drew).
This image underneath is the 'clue'.
Players: then get to choose from 4 answers provided via buttons.
It then reveals the answer, and then they move to the next level.
Future State = improve success metrics, and celebrations UI.
And of course, get past the white load screen on iphone (my current nemesis)
Thinking behind the Idea:
I was intrigued by the idea of moving your finger through one texture to reveal parts of the clue underneath.
The clues take us around the world to landmarks and art galleries and across all different mediums - which I think is a key part of why people loved Carmen San Diego over the years (you got to travel and learn)
The idea fit well with my personal goal to learn how to make interactive games on Unity.
Learning / Progress:
- Unity Engine (never used before)
- Visual Editor Code
- Xcode
- Setting up Google Cloud with URL APIs
- Planning out graphics for 43 levels - with a CSV managing all the levels
- Creating UI elements for the Canvas
- Using Canva for speed (normally I use Adobe)
- Browsing Open Source galleries for clue artwork
- Thinking through a montetisation option (if I publish it)
- Thinking through a games for change 'click to donate' if I publish it
... and soooo much more!
